“Quite simply the best guitar teacher in the business. John has a thorough knowledge of all aspects of the guitar and gives those ‘extra’ pieces of advice that you don’t get off most teachers that will give you a head-start in exams and playing in general. Always a pleasure to take a class with. Highly recommended.”

“I had been playing guitar badly for years on and off, more off than on, and decided to take some lessons.

John was recommended to me and I started with him in February 2009. Within two years I had passed two RGT Exams (Grades 5 and 6) and have now progressed to a level where I can hear a song on radio/TV and within a few minutes figure out its key and chords.

John not only taught me how to play guitar well, but also taught me how to understand a lot about music, and put some structure and discipline in place. All this was done without being overwhelmed with a huge amount of theory.

John’s enthusiasm and knowledge is infectious and he is also very good at motivating and encouraging you particularly at those times when you may feel a bit negative or lack confidence in your own abilities.

Thanks to John I now feel I am a musician who can play my guitar competently.

I would like to thank him for all he has done for me and wish him and his students continued success.

Learn with John and learn to love your guitar.”

“I’ve been going to John for lessons for about 4 years now. I had virtually no musical knowledge before starting the lessons, but that has now changed. John has helped me work my way through the RGT guitar exams and I’m now preparing for Grade 5! I have found that he explains everything very clearly and he’ll work at your own particular pace. He’ll also teach you songs that you particularly like. In my case its rock and blues, and John will show you the chord progression and ideas for soloing. Overall John will help you increase your musical knowledge, improve technique and get you closer to where you want to be with your guitar playing. I would have no hesitation in highly recommending John as a great guitar teacher.”
